Immersion Retreat
The Leadership Trainer Certification Program is a one-of-a-kind, immersive, engaging, hands-on, train-the-trainer experience that will (a) prepare you to effectively develop the leadership skills and capacities of others through dynamic training experiences while (b) providing you with an intentional leadership development experience to enhance your own understanding and practice of leadership.
How can we expect the next generations of leaders to navigate the challenges we will inevitably face, if the leadership trainers of today are ill-prepared to facilitate their leadership development?
We can’t. We shouldn’t!
If we intend to develop the leadership skills and capacities of others, it is essential that we have   (a) an understanding of leadership theories and themes, (b) healthy leadership habits infused into our own practice, and (c) the facilitation techniques needed to ensure they can access, internalize, and then apply their leadership learning. Most leadership trainers are not prepared to serve in this capacity.
Until now, there has never been a concerted effort to intentionally and properly train folks to facilitate leadership trainings.
The Leadership Trainer Certification Program ​will prepare you to serve as the leadership-developer and trainer that your participants crave. This program is intentionally designed as an immersion into the triad of leadership theory, leadership practices, and facilitation skills. Our robust, comprehensive, hands-on, and engaging "train-the-trainer" curriculum will prepare you to serve as an effective leadership trainer.
Upon earning your Leadership Trainer Certification, you will become a savvy leadership trainer who can dynamically facilitate leadership development and education in multiple contexts: one-to-one and small group engagements; retreats and conference presentations; workshops and seminars; academic courses, diverse continuing education programs, and more!

Retreat Location:
Mercy By The Sea Retreat and Conference Center is a picturesque sea-side location ideal for our intentional, immersive, and intimate leadership train-the-trainer experience. Nestled on the idyllic Long Island Sound in Madison, Connecticut, Mercy is only an hour from Hartford (CT) and Providence (RI) and less than two hours from Boston (MA) and New Jersey / New York City. This is an ideal location for New Englanders and those traveling from afar—especially because we offer *complimentary* airport and train pick-ups/drop-offs!
The grounds provide the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor reflective spaces. The natural environment includes gardens, lush tree canopies and flowering bushes, and a labyrinth. Don't forget your bathing suit—there is a private beach which will host our "beach party"! Indoors, Mercy offers a library, chapel and art gallery. We will be sure to make use of all Mercy has to offer during the 5-day Immersion Retreat.
The meals at Mercy By The Sea may prove to be a highlight. They pride themselves on serving "food that feeds the soul." Each meal (all meals, snacks, and coffee/tea are included in the cost of the program) are prepared as simple healthy meals made from local and organic produce as much as possible. Mercy serves both hot and cold Continental breakfasts and lunches. The afternoon meal always includes a salad bar, various combinations of soups, sandwiches, and lunch-time entrees—with cookies and fruit as dessert options. Dinners feature a protein, starch, vegetable, tossed salad, bread, and house-made desserts.
